Holiday Greetings

As this year comes to a close, I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.

It's hard to not pay attention to all the events of late. As I follow what's going on I've realized that it's important to pay attention to what really matters these days. Yes, all the economic news is really distracting. There's hope that the direction of our country (for those in the US) is changing. It's hard to not be hurt by Prop 8. Yet, I'm continually reminded of what's really important.

Yes, it's true that times are challenging. However, along with the challenge, current circumstances present us with a huge opportunity. I'm noticing that people are now asking important questions link how did things get this way? More importantly, I'm also hearing people begin to ask themselves how can I make this better? Sure, blaming someone else is easier, but playing the blame game doesn't improve anything. The important questions are around what we be doing about the current situation.

I'm also reminded that, like everything else, our current circumstances are neither "bad" nor "good." They just are. (Yea, I know it's a Zen thing!) But if we can move from judgment of the circumstances toward learning how to create from the circumstances we just created an opportunity. One of the most powerful lessons for me lately has been looking at things as an opportunity and I'm really excited to be seeing so many others begin to look at our circumstances in a similar way. I challenge you to note when you complain about circumstances (we all do!) and, instead, ask yourself what can I create from what's presented to me. I know it's now always easy to look at the world this way - believe me, I've been trying for a long time. But the shift can be substantial and leads us to a sense of empowerment.

During this season, I'm also reminded of the importance of gratitude. Perhaps one way to move from judging our circumstances is to focus our energies on what we're grateful for. I'm know that there's much I'm grateful for - including the opportunity to work with some amazing men!

He has produced over twenty-five sex education DVDs and videos, including Evolutionary Masturbation, Uranus—Self Anal Massage for Men, and Fire on the Mountain—Male Genital Massage. Ten years ago he started The New School of Erotic Touch, www.eroticmassage.com, featuring over thirty hours of video demonstrations and instruction. He helped create a new state-approved profession in California: Sexological Bodywork. His favorite word is "savor."

Orgasmic Yoga is a pleasurable, intimate and transformative discipline, practiced while sexually aroused. The intention of most practitioners is to develop or reclaim erotic capacities. Some individuals practice to savor the awesome feelings in their body. Thus, Orgasmic Yoga is both profound somatic education and embodied meditation. Most practice sessions begin with “doing” and end with “being.”

Profound embodied learning takes place when we repeat a practice mindfully over time. Repetition is how humans learn sex. So the yoga model of education is ideal.

Erotic meditation allows the individual to focus on what is substantial rather than what is superficial. Every practice session ends with a quiet period of experiencing one’s body as real in the present moment.

Sacred Touch School is the evolution of the videos on my website. I recently started a partnership with another Sexological Bodyworker to develop explicit educational material that can be accessed on the net. We're just getting started, but already have over 2 hours of video instruction. Also, all of the new videos are accompanied with a worksheet with more background and practice ideas.
